Samsung T5 Catalina Update

  1. Samsung T5 Macos Catalina Update
  2. Samsung T5 Catalina Update Review

Please know that Samsung T5 SSD Driver Software is not compatible with Catalina. Use the method as described by bburr below and it seems to work. But had to use it every time to open the SSD. If you want to make your Samsung Portable SSD T5 a bootable backup drive (ala Carbon Copy Cloner) in Catalina, I believe it must be formatted as APFS. As far as I know, you need the Samsung SD T5 software installed to easily find the firmware version.

  1. Samsung is currently preparing an update for its T5 to make there software compatible with Catalina.
  2. The samsung Portable SSD software detected an update for my new ssd and of course I updated it (to 1.6.3). However after the update I reboot the computer and the SSD is not detected in finder. I can only see one device called 'T5SETUP' which seems to be a small partition of the SSD with the installation files for the Samsung Portable SSD software.
  3. Put Samsung's 1TB T5 SSD in your pocket for $140 (Update: Expired) That's within a couple bucks of the lowest price on record for this top-rated portable drive.
